Position Summary

We are seeking a qualified Application Developer to support the planning, execution, and finalization of IT-related projects. In this role, you will ensure projects are delivered within deadlines and budget while resolving complex system integration challenges. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand pain points, design robust technical solutions, and build/enhance cloud-based applications. At OSDH’s request, the contractor may be converted to a full-time role at the end of the contract. Candidates must live in Oklahoma City, OK. 

Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government Public Trust security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, maintainable, reusable, and secure code while resolving complex system integration challenges in collaboration with external teams, working closely with business stakeholders to understand pain points and design solutions.
• Provide software development experience in any two of the following areas: Web and API development (.NET stack), UI technologies (React/Angular, node.js, etc.), or Microsoft Azure/other cloud platforms; in-depth knowledge of technologies such as Web Services, XML, JSON, SSL, TCP/IP, and caching; experience with Azure DevOps workflows, Agile methodologies, SQL Server services, T-SQL, stored procedures, database optimization, and source control (Git); and the ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.
• Participate in an Agile environment to review and contribute to technical designs, implement new features, and demonstrate developed functionality.
• Build and enhance cloud-based applications and manage performance parameters to ensure fast front-end response times.
• Resolve complex system integration challenges in collaboration with external teams and stakeholders.
• Analyze proposed software applications or system modifications to identify requirements and system restrictions.
• Help automate and continuously improve development workflows.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Degree or Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related field OR 2–4 years of experience in applications development.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered (substituting 1 year of development experience for 1 year of required education).
• Core Technical Skills (Must have experience in at least TWO of these areas):
• Backend: Web and API development using the .NET stack (ASP.NET).
• Frontend/UI: Modern UI technologies such as React, Angular, or Node.js.
• Cloud: Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Required to be US Citizens and have security clearances in accordance with security requirements.

Skill & Certification Requirements

• Experience with Agile project management methodologies.
• Data & Protocols: In-depth knowledge of Web Services, XML, JSON, SSL, TCP/IP, and caching.
• Database Management: Strong experience with SQL Server services, T-SQL, writing stored procedures, and database optimization.
• Tools & Workflow: Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps workflows, source control (Git), and Agile methodologies.
• Adaptability: A proven ability and willingness to quickly learn new coding languages and emerging technologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Well-organized and detail oriented.
• Other administrative or technical assignments as directed by team.

• Must have ability to effectively communicate with management and peers.
• Ability to troubleshoot network incidences and provide a resolution report
• Ability to interact with all team members in a mentoring role, this includes assistance in troubleshooting, and
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)
• Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor
