The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Nursing Supervisor. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. Applicants for this position cannot be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing Certification and Regulation, cannot have a principal interest in or have a spouse or close family with principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, and cannot be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Job Duties: Provide support/guidance to clinical staff to receive, research, document, & resolve QOC issues via standardized processes. Ensure thorough, timely, & member-centric investigations. Ensure investigators appropriately progress assigned cases and meet established investigative timeframes. Ensure appropriate referrals. Provide clinical oversight to staff. Ensure appropriate and timely review and response through the AHCCCS Notification Mailbox. Conducts tracking & trending of member, service site, vendor, & Division concerns. Facilitates weekly case resolution. Ensures appropriate follow-up & corrective actions are established & monitored through resolution. Tracks&monitors member-specific and systemic care concerns. Evaluates cases against established escalation criteria & facilitates timely elevation through the QM Committee structure and DDD Medical Director, Chief Quality Officer, or executive leadership, as appropriate. Maintains all necessary documentation to support work of the unit. Provides technical assistance to staff on process improvement. Ensures inter-rater reliability of unit work. Conducts file reviews as a part of litigation review. Responsible for all duties/responsibilities for the supervision of staff. Includes hiring, training, 1:1 meetings, coaching, day-to-day oversight, completing Performance Appraisals, authorizing leave, approving Timecards, etc. Participate in operational reviews, technical assistance, & focused studies/reviews to ensure compliance w/contract & policy requirements. Audit cases & provide guidance to staff to ensure alignment w/Division & AHCCCS policies to promote an audit-ready unit. In addition, this position maintains the established tracking and trending process used to identify potential concerns with specific members and/or providers for follow-up. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs): Knowledge in: Applicable laws, rules, policies, procedures, and standards related to acute care delivery, nursing scope of practice, and quality management Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS), Department of Health Services (DHS), and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations Project management principles. Professional report and technical writing principles. General laws and reporting regulations for abuse and neglect of vulnerable populations. Health care issues and standards of care for vulnerable populations including developmentally disabled, those receiving long- term care services, and/or behavioral health services Skills In: Technological skills including use of databases, Microsoft Office products, email, and electronic referral and verification sources. Producing professional technical reports, letters, and other items Research and analysis Oral and written communication Personal planning, organization, and time management Medical chart review Leadership, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating Decision making Ability to: Work in a fast-paced environment Organize, prioritize, and track files and information from various sources Work independently and with a variety of internal and external customers Think critically, organize workflow, and modify existing processes with minimal supervision Accommodate changing requirements or standards Lead and supervise a diverse workforce Selective Preference(s): Clinical supervision experience to include one (1) year of experience working with the Intellectual Disability population. Pre-Employment Requirements: If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver's License Requirements. Any employee operating a motor vehicle on State business must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver's license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver's license record checks. The license must be current, unexpired, and neither revoked nor suspended. Employees who drive on state business are subject to Driver's license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training. An employee who operated a personally owned vehicle on state business shall maintain the statutorily required liability insurance (see Arizona Administrative Code (A.A.C.) (R2-10-201.11). Successfully pass background and reference check; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the Agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions. Employee shall have a valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes 41-1968 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults. Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Department of Child Safety Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
