Accounting Manager

Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial stewardship of a non-profit organization. The Accounting Manager is a key member of the finance team, responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting operations, fund accounting activities, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.


This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supports audit and compliance requirements, and serves as the subject matter expert for Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT and Raiser's Edge.



Key Responsibilities

• Manage all month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Oversee fund accounting for restricted, unrestricted, and donor-designated funds while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and donor requirements.
• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, and audit schedules to support leadership decision-making and annual audit requirements.
• Serve as the lead user of Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT, driving reporting accuracy, process improvements, and system efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate recording and reporting of gifts, endowments, and other fund activity.
• Support and oversee accounting staff or outsourced accounting functions while promoting strong controls, accountability, and operational excellence.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco by Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

• the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
• licensure and certification requirements;
• office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco by Highspring believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
