We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Staff Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and handling the full cycle of accounting duties, providing financial consultation, and working closely with our clients to help them navigate their complex financial landscapes.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:

1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, check runs, fixed asset activity, debt activity etc.

2. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and budget performance.

3. Ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.

4. Conducting detailed risk analyses and assessments.

5. Preparing and posting monthly journal entries, accruals, and GL.

6. Conducting thorough reviews of financial statements and reports to ensure all calculations are accurate.

7. Performing monthly bank reconciliations.

8. Assisting with tax audits and tax returns.

9. Developing, implementing, and maintaining financial controls and guidelines.

10. Aiding in the implementation of new accounting policies, standards, and guidelines.

11. Providing advice and technical assistance with cost analysis, fiscal allocation, and budget preparation.

Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2. 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role.

3. Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel.

4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.

5. Experience with financial data analysis and reporting.

6. Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

7. Strong knowledge of bookkeeping procedures, tax issues, and risk analysis.

8. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to clients.

9. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

10. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and proactiveness.
