Quality Manager

An established manufacturer serving the defense and aerospace markets in Dayton, Ohio is hiring a Quality Manager to lead its quality program. The role owns the company's AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality system, leads the quality team, and serves as the main quality contact for registrars, customers, suppliers, and government representatives. It works closely with engineering, production, and customer-facing teams and reports quality performance to executive leadership.

Full-time, Monday through Friday, on-site in Dayton, OH.

$95,000 to $110,000 per year.

You will serve as the company's top quality authority and management representative for the quality system. You will plan and manage all registrar activity, including surveillance and recertification audits, and run the internal audit program. You will keep procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records current, and make sure operations meet AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements, customer contract terms, and applicable regulations. You will also lead management review meetings and keep corrective action and improvement projects moving.

You will drive root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action for internal and customer-reported issues. You will track quality data, identify trends, and turn findings into action plans, and help reduce risk across products, processes, and the supply base. You will also build a quality roadmap that supports the company's growth.

On the product side, you will verify that products meet internal, customer, and industry standards, and take part in new product introduction through design reviews, validation, and qualification. You will evaluate inspection, testing, and production methods, manage nonconforming product, customer complaints, and returns, and work with engineering and operations to improve process capability.

You will supervise, hire, train, and develop the quality team. You will set department objectives and performance standards, and promote a quality-first approach across the company. You will report quality results, audit outcomes, and improvement progress to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive quality management experience in manufacturing
• 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Hands-on experience managing a certified quality management system
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 requirements
• Experience with root cause analysis, CAPA, SPC, and continuous improvement tools
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection methods, and quality assurance
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality, manufacturing, or a related technical field
• AS9100 or ISO 9001 internal auditor or lead auditor certification
• ASQ certification, such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
• Experience with AS9102 first article inspection and AS9145 APQP and PPAP
• Experience working with DCMA or government source inspection
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
