DurhamLearn works with local communities, a range of voluntary organisations, employers and public health to deliver the training people need to help change their lives for the better. We ensure that provision is local and accessible, with training delivered in more than 100 venues across Durham County. Courses include a broad range of opportunities for personal development, support for health and well‑being and the chance to gain skills and qualifications for further education and employment. In June 2023, our provision was graded as ‘Good’ by Ofsted. What Is Involved? We are looking to recruit Sessional Learning Delivery Assistants to join our team. Under the direction of your line manager, you will assist tutors in supporting the additional needs of learners requiring help to overcome any barriers to learning. The role will consist of mainly in‑class support, though supporting learners online in live sessions and some 1‑1 study coaching outside of class time – directed by the tutor, may also be involved. You will contribute towards the delivery of a high‑quality learning and skills experience through collaborative working and be guided by the Additional Learning Support Co‑ordinator and the SEND Programme Lead. We have a particular need in this recruitment to find employees to work in the East of the county. What Will I Need? Ideally, you will have experience of working with 14yrs+ learners – knowledge of ALS/ SEND/LLDD / SEMH would be advantageous. Required qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Specialist Support in Teaching and Learning / CACHE Teaching Assistant / or equivalent (including teaching qualifications); must have Level 2 in English and maths Functional Skills or equivalent qualifications e.g. GCSEs.
