Join us.Your role.Your work will include, but not be limited to:Providing financial staffing and related consulting support to municipalitiesAssisting our municipal clients with their accounting and finance functions, including bank reconciliations, budget development, financial close reporting, and preparation for annual audit, and related supportMay review data regarding cash (including cancelled checks, bank statements, electronic remittances), investments, receivables, capital assets, liabilities, equity, revenues and expensesDrafting financial reports, including periodic budgets to actual schedules, and annual financial statements with related disclosuresVerifies, allocates, and posts details of municipality transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, such as bank statements, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printoutsCompiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting municipal transactionsWorking independently or in teams to improve client accounting operations, including drafting policies and proceduresAnalyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and equity, and prepares balance sheet, statement of revenues and expenditures, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial positionCollaborating with other consultants and clients for continuous improvement recommendationsSupervision and training of junior staff membersTraining and development opportunities for professional, personal, and technical growthMonthly billings to customersAble to work independently on client projectsThe qualifications.Requires a general understanding of GASB and government fund accounting, client’s business systems and industry requirements4+ years of governmental accounting or 6+ years’ experience creating and using financial reports in a professional service firm (public accounting), government or school districtTechnology skills including proficiency with various financial accounting systems and ExcelBachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or related field is requiredCPA or Master’s degree in accounting, business, or other similar field preferred but not requiredThis position requires local and/or regional travel to client sites.Ability for limited overnight travel preferred but not requiredProject management skills- ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyThis is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime for hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.#LI-Hybrid#LI-HD1What makes us different?On the surface, we’re one of the nation’s largest audit, tax, consulting, and wealth management firms.
