Position Overview The Financial Analyst supports a wide range of accounting, budgeting, and financial management functions for organizational programs and projects. This role is responsible for assisting in the formulation, justification, execution, and monitoring of budgets while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and financial policies. The position is structured across multiple levels based on experience and responsibility. Key Responsibilities Perform accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis functions in support of programs or projects Assist in the formulation, justification, and execution of budgets Support cost estimating, financial forecasting, and reporting activities Analyze financial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations Apply knowledge of financial management principles, methods, and techniques Prepare financial reports, documentation, and supporting materials Conduct more complex financial analyses and budget reviews Provide recommendations to support financial planning and decision‑making Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies Support audits, reviews, and financial evaluations Lead financial analysis efforts for programs or projects Provide guidance on budgeting, cost estimating, and financial management strategies Review and validate financial data, reports, and forecasts Serve as a key resource for resolving complex financial issues Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Finance, Accounting, or a related field Substitutions 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement 1 academic year of technical school or accredited college coursework in a finance‑related program may substitute for 1 year of experience Experience 8+ years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or budgeting Knowledge of budgeting, accounting, and financial management principles Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations, and financial policies Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Proficiency in financial systems and standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets) Benefits 401(k) retirement plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Paid Holidays Medical and Dental Plans Life and Disability Insurance Education Assistance Equal Opportunity Employment JANUS Research Group is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
