Accounting Manager

Our nonprofit client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to manage core operations, maintain accurate accounting, and support grant compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys mission‑driven work and has experience with implementation. Hybrid working schedule.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
• Manage the general ledger and track unrestricted, temporarily restricted, and permanently restricted net assets.
• Oversee fund accounting and ensure proper allocation of expenses across programs and grants.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Support budget development and variance analysis.
• Track grant revenues and expenses to ensure funder compliance.
• Prepare grant reimbursement reports and financial submissions.
• Partner with program teams to monitor spending and timelines.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor relationships.
• Oversee payroll entries and liaise with payroll processors.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation.
• Assist with preparation for the annual audit and Form 990.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies.
• Recommend system or process enhancements to improve efficiency.
• Serve as the primary financial contact for external auditors and CPA partners.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including nonprofit experience.
• Strong Implementation experience including utilizing AI
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.
