Location: Mason

Starting Pay: $20 - $24 (Based on experience)

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 7 AM - 3:30 PM

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM - 12 AM

Job Description:

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that he or she will be trained and certified to run. In addition, operators load/unload parts to fulfil production demands, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities:

• Operation of traditional oil and/or deep tank electrical discharge machining (EDM) aka Sinker / Plunge EDM
• Set-up and operate machines, load/unload parts, and communicate changes and results (in writing and verbally) while adhering to a strict time schedule
• Demonstrate ability to read prints, inspect parts using precision gages
• Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment as necessary (micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
• Good mechanical aptitude and some "shop math" is required
• Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards
• Maintains specifications; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Maintains equipment by adhering to maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
• Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
• Documents actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP system
• Perform under AS9100 quality standards and NADCAP accreditation
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as needed
• Reliable attendance and a respectful demeanor are necessary

Qualifications & Education:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. person
• Previous EDM experience preferred but not required
• Have basic mechanical skills, manufacturing experience preferred
• Manufacturing experience a plus

Physical Requirements:

• Lift, push and/or pull thirty-five pounds regularly
• Walking or standing at least 95% of the scheduled shift
• Operate overhead crane when necessary
• Routinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, and grasping in order to move and set tools, equipment and material
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required
