Nurses work in collaboration with physicians to provide patients with care, education, and support. Assess patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. May advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Coordinating and assigning duties to other health care personnel, such as licensed practical nurses, nursing aides, and patient care associates.

Minimum Qualifications: A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State; and holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Additional Salary Compensation: In addition to base compensation, you may also receive the following based on the Collectively-Bargained Agreement: An annual education differential if you currently possess an appropriate degree in nursing or an allied health discipline from an accredited college or university, as listed below: Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900 Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200 Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800 Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000 Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500 An annual certification differential if you currently hold appropriate certifications that are nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed, as listed below: Certifications in the following disciplines/areas of specialization are eligible for premium pay at $3,000: Behavioral Health Emergency Surgical Services Critical Care Certifications in the following disciplines/areas of specialization are eligible for premium pay at $2,000: Med-Surgical/Dialysis Correctional Health Professional if assigned to Correctional Health All other nationally recognized certifications are eligible for regular pay at $1,878 . An annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 if you currently hold appropriate certifications that are nationally recognized in the discipline or area of specialization for which you are employed. An annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience if you have outside nursing experience as a Staff Nurse.
