Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education (SPED) certification in Louisiana or a current LA teaching certificate with a willingness to pursue SPED certification
• Demonstrated experience working with students with autism or in moderate needs classrooms is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of individualized education program (IEP) processes and effective instructional strategies for diverse learners
• Exceptional communication, organization, and classroom management skills
• Commitment to professional growth and a passion for creating inclusive learning spaces

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to the unique needs of K/1 or middle school students in moderate special education settings
• Assess students’ academic, emotional, and social development and collaborate in the creation and implementation of effective IEPs
• Partner with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support
• Maintain accurate records, participate in IEP meetings, and contribute to a positive school climate
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to encourage independence and social-emotional growth among students
