Validation Engineer, Controller IntegrationAs a Validation Engineer within our Vehicle Development organization, you will play a crucial role in integrating and testing our Electronic Control Units (ECUs). In your role as a Validation Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the integrity and performance of components and subsystems through rigorous validation of incoming firmware and hardware updates for our Electronic Control Units (ECUs). You will play a crucial role in a dynamic team dedicated to evolving and refining the robot's features, driving them towards peak production efficiency. Your involvement will extend to collaborating with diverse teams across the organization, upholding a standard of excellence and accountability in meeting stringent requirements. Additionally, as a recognized validation expert, you will oversee a select group of vehicle controllers. This specialized focus empowers you to delve deeply into technical challenges, contributing significantly to the advancement and delivery of our autonomous robot.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather comprehensive requirementsDevelop and execute test plans for firmware and hardware integration on new ECU componentsEnsure robust verification of bootloader, power management, and network communication requirementsActively troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in both manufacturing and operational fleet settingsCollaborate closely with Vehicle System Engineers to address design issues and propose long-term solutionsAnalyze log data and source code to debug system-level issuesEngage with cross-functional teams to stay informed about new hardware/software changes and develop appropriate test plansLead initial system bring-up and vehicle-level integration testsInnovate by developing early prototypes and test benches for new technologiesBS or higher in Electrical/Electronics/Systems/Mechanical Engineering or a related field3-5 years of experience in controller validation/integrationProficiency in diagnosing complex controlled systems, including CAN, LIN, or Ethernet network issuesSkilled in MATLAB, Python, C++, or similar tools.Experience with data acquisition equipment, voltage power supply, oscilloscope, and sensorsFamiliarity with Jira tools (Structure, Dashboard)Solid electronics fundamentals, comfortable working with ECUs and performing basic electrical debugging tasksStrong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical issues clearlyExperience with Vector toolsExperience with data acquisition toolsKnowledge in failure analysis and risk assessmentProficiency in automating controller verification stepsMinimal international travel may be requiredIndividual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
