Private family seeks a warm, engaging, and highly dependable Traveling Nanny to provide exceptional care for their two children, ages 5 and 7. Based at the family's Upper East Side residence, this is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Nanny who can provide consistent after-school and evening care throughout the school year while also accompanying the family during school breaks and extended travel.

The regular schedule consists of Monday through Friday from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday from 9am to 6pm, with flexability forextened hours on Friday nights for the occasional event or dinner. The Nanny will primarily support the children following school, assisting with homework, showers, and nighttime routines while providing attentive and engaging care. Saturdays will allow for more extended childcare, activities, outings, and general support.

The position requires flexibility for family travel during school breaks. The family travels domestically over Christmas, February break, and Easter/spring break and spends approximately one month abroad during the summer. Candidates must be comfortable traveling for extended periods and adapting to increased hours and changing schedules while maintaining consistency and structure for the children.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide attentive, nurturing, and age-appropriate care
• Manage after-school care and maintain a consistent weekday routine
• Assist with homework and school-related responsibilities
• Support evening routines, including showers, getting ready for bed, and other nighttime needs
• Engage the children in age-appropriate activities, games, reading, and creative play
• Plan and facilitate activities, outings, and playdates, particularly on Saturdays and during school breaks
• Maintain organization of the children's belongings, school materials, activity supplies, and travel necessities
• Pack and unpack for the children and ensure they are prepared for family travel
• Accompany the family during domestic and international travel
• Maintain the children's routines, schedules, and overall well-being while traveling
• Communicate proactively with the parents regarding the children's schedules, activities, and needs
• Work collaboratively with the family and other household professionals
• Maintain the utmost discretion and confidentiality

Requirements:

• Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal skills
• Excellent references from both current and former employers
• High level of discretion, professionalism, emotional intelligence, and commitment to confidentiality and safety
• 5+ years of relevant professional Nanny experience, preferably within private households
• Strong experience caring for school-aged children
• Prior experience traveling with a private family preferred
• Ability and willingness to travel during school breaks, including Christmas, February break, Easter/spring break, and approximately one month internationally during the summer REQUIRED
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
• Warm, patient, engaging, and genuinely child-focused
• Organized, proactive, reliable, and able to anticipate the children's needs
• Comfortable assisting with homework and managing structured after-school and nighttime routines
• Excellent communication skills and sound judgment
• Trustworthy, discreet, and respectful of family privacy
• Flexible and adaptable, particularly during family travel
• Legally able to work within the United States

Compensation: $40 - $50 Hourly, Two weeks PTO during summer, Travel compensation rate with OT
