Addiction Medicine Physician

About this position Job Summary: The Addiction Medicine Physician will provide addiction medicine services for Alameda Health System, including the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with substance use disorders. Services will be provided on-site at Highland Hospital. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.

1. Provide full-scope Addiction Medicine care in the Bridge Clinic as well as part of the Bridge Consult service.
2. Provide care to Bridge patients using a collaborative, team model of care characterized by supportive physician/staff interaction.
3. Attend and participate in Bridge Program meetings and other medical staff conferences including continuing education programs.
4. Plan and participate in in-service education programs for mid-level practitioners, nursing and other staff.
5. Serve as a professional role model for trainees with peers, patients, families and other members of the health care team.
6. Provide effective and timely communications to referring or admitting physicians, patients and families concerning the clinical status of each patient.
7. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Department Chair or his/her designee.

Qualifications Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required. Required Licenses/Certifications: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Addiction Medicine. Required Licenses/Certifications: Possession of a valid license to practice medicine in the State of California. Required Licenses/Certifications: Valid DEA license Pay Range: TBD The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
