Position: Payroll Admin
Location: Martinez, CA
Duration: 6 month contract to hire
Pay: $30/hr.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support a top electrical subcontracting client. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Manage and execute end-to-end payroll administration processes accurately and on schedule.
- Compliance Management: Handle the upload of payroll and labor data to required government compliance portals and sites.
- Data Integrity: Input payroll data with high proficiency, managing complex payroll activity codes and auditing entries for accuracy.
- Operational Support: Independently troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and maintain organized digital and physical payroll records.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the finance and project management teams to support a high-volume, deadline-driven workflow.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience: 2+ years of dedicated experience in payroll administration.
- Compliance Portals: Proven experience uploading payroll and labor data directly to government compliance websites.
- Data Management: Strong proficiency in data entry with specific experience managing and applying payroll activity codes.
- Core Knowledge: Deep, hands-on understanding of foundational payroll processes, tax withholding rules, and standard practices.
- Mindset: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain strict confidentiality.
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Industry Specifics: Experience working with prevailing wage payroll structures.
- Software Expertise: Strong knowledge of LCP (Labor Compliance Program) tracking and hands-on experience utilizing LCPtracker software.
- Background: Previous experience working within the construction or electrical subcontracting industries.
