Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse

Position Overview Responsible and accountable for compliance to all standards of practice and professional development in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, United Health Services and Home Care policies and philosophy, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics for Nurses, WOCN Standards, and the Bill of Patient Rights. Promotes a caring and healing environment for patient‑centered care. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with all professional and regulatory standards in nursing practice. Maintain a patient‑centered care environment that promotes healing. Education & Experience Bachelor degree in Nursing. Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting. Completion of an accredited WOCN program for WOC Nursing (WOCNEP) within 1 year (preferred). Previous completion of a WOCNEP program (preferred). Previous experience as a WOCN (preferred). 6 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting (preferred). License & Certification Current New York State Registered Nurse License. Certification through the WOCN Certification Board (WOCNCB) within 1 year (required). CPR Certification required upon hire. Current certification as a Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse (CWOCN) through WOCNCB (preferred). Work Shift & Compensation Primary Department: Skilled Nursing, UHS Home Care. Work Shift: Day Regular Scheduled. Weekly Hours: 40. Compensation Range: $33.57 – $51.39 per hour, depending on experience.
