Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2350 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you're applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to titrate drips. Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Unit Details: Cardiac/telemetry patient population with no stepdown patients. Common patient types include cardiac patients, CR bands, post cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries after out of CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post PCI. Occasional titratable cardiac drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg. Philips monitors. CPAP and BiPAP only; RT manages respiratory equipment. Charge nurse available 24/7; days does not take patients, nights does take patients. CNA support typically 3 on days and 2 on nights; ideally 1 CNA per 12 patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Every-other-weekend requirement; Sat/Sun for both days and nights. Holidays rotate with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: Float to any MedSurg/Tele unit.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver's license required for submission
