Company description Frø is a Brooklyn-based Danish bakery dedicated to bringing authentic Scandinavian baking traditions to the United States. Best known for its traditional 100% sourdough Danish rye bread (rugbrød), Frø combines time-honored recipes with locally sourced Northeast grains to create wholesome, deeply flavorful baked goods made without preservatives or shortcuts. Job description Frø is a Danish rye bread company based in Brooklyn, making traditional sourdough rye bread alongside a growing range of Danish baked goods. We’re looking for reliable, capable, hardworking bakers to join our production team as we head into our busiest season yet: the Union Square Holiday Market. We’re open to a range of experience levels. You may be an experienced professional baker, or earlier in your baking career and eager to learn. What matters most to us is that you’re dependable, competent, comfortable working hard and genuinely care about making great food. The role You’ll work on our baking team on daily production at our Red Hook, Brooklyn bakery. Depending on experience, responsibilities may include: Mixing, scaling, shaping and baking sourdough rye bread Producing cardamom buns and other Danish pastries and baked goods Preparing products for our direct-to-consumer market customers and wholesale accounts Following recipes and production systems consistently and accurately Maintaining a clean, organized and food-safe workspace Packing, labeling and assisting with other production needs Jumping in wherever needed during busy production days For more advanced bakers: new product development and recipe testing Who we're looking for We’d love to meet people who are: Reliable and punctual - this is extremely important to us Hardworking and comfortable in any pace of production environment (some days are slow and calm, others are fast-paced) Detail-oriented and able to follow recipes and systems consistently and suggest improvements where appropriate Comfortable with repetitive, physical work and being on their feet Collaborative, positive and willing to pitch in wherever its needed Passionate about baking, bread and/or great food Experienced in a professional bakery or kitchen or excited and capable of learning quickly Professional baking experience is a plus, but we are open to varying experience levels for the right person. Holiday availability We have several positions available specifically for our Union Square Holiday Market season in November and December. These positions will begin in October, but will ramp up significantly in November and December. For these seasonal positions, full-time availability throughout November and December 2026 is required. This is an especially busy period for Frø, so candidates should be prepared for an intensive production schedule, including some early mornings and weekend work. Some roles may end after the holiday season, while others will have the opportunity to continue with Frø in part-time or full-time positions in the new year. We’re growing quickly and would especially love to meet people interested in growing with us longer term. Experienced bakers + future leadership We’re also interested in meeting experienced bakers who may be looking for a longer-term opportunity and eventually a leadership role within our bakery. As Frø grows, we’re building out our baking and production team beyond the holiday season. If you have significant professional baking experience and are excited by Danish baking culture, Scandinavian breads and pastries, and helping build a growing bakery operation, we’d love to hear from you - even if the seasonal position described above isn’t exactly what you’re looking for.
