Supply Technician

Summary This Supply Technician position requires managing inventory discrepancies and material inspections across multiple facilities. Responsibilities Investigate stock/record/material discrepancies affecting inventory balances. Inspect materials for defects and update item data reports and research. Receive and respond to various communications (emails, phone calls, letters, reports, IOMs) regarding material inspections, shipments, receipts, storage, and inventory adjustments. Perform physical inventory counts, material inspections, and location survey checks; update records based on cyclic inspections. Research receipt discrepancies for record adjustments and conduct preliminary research for inventory and location surveys. Process Material Release Orders (MROs) and Stock Transfer Orders (STOs) and manage filing, correspondence, and other clerical tasks. Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. citizen. Set duty schedule. Security clearance: Non Sensitive. Appointment subject to favorable suitability or fitness determination; adverse background checks grounds for removal. FLSA Non‑Exempt. Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12‑31‑59. Real ID or acceptable ID required for access to certain federal facilities. Pre‑employment physical examination required. Qualifications To qualify, applicants must provide documentation that demonstrates: Education equivalent to at least 4 years above high school, with transcripts if meeting basic qualifications through education. One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑04 level (or equivalent), including experience in investigating inventory and material discrepancies, researching stock and record discrepancies, and responding to Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs). Ability to compute combined education and experience to meet total qualification requirements for GS‑05 level. Physical Demands Required to research, survey, count, and handle material that may weigh up to 70 pounds, operate material handling equipment, and occasionally use a bicycle, sedan, or pick‑up truck.
