Job Details

What You'll Do
Own the general ledger, month-end close, and accurate, timely financial reporting for U.S. and Mexico operations.
Prepare and review financial statements, bank reconciliations, and 13-week and 52-week cash flow analyses.
Oversee physical inventory accuracy, partnering with the Mexico team on counts, reconciliations, and issue resolution.
Review and consolidate cost accounting information prepared by the Mexico team for the CFO and private equity sponsor.
Lead accounting teams across both countries, including managers responsible for accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Oversee AP, AR, weekly and semi-monthly payroll, commissions, tax filings, and benefits-related accounting.
Coordinate tax return preparation, support external audits, and assist with liability and workers' compensation insurance renewals.
Strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, cross-training, and checks and balances.
Serve as the accounting department's NetSuite administrator and improve the system's effectiveness.

What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and at least seven years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting skills, including financial reporting, inventory, and cost accounting principles.
Experience leading accounting teams and working effectively with operations and senior leadership.
Direct experience with physical inventory in a manufacturing or similarly inventory-intensive business.
The judgment, communication skills, and drive to lead through change in a lean, fast-moving environment.
Ability to work onsite in Irvine five days a week and travel to Mexicali for short visits approximately once a month.

An active CPA, public accounting background, private equity experience, manufacturing experience, NetSuite administration, cross-border accounting experience, and Spanish language skills are all valuable. Candidates do not need to bring every preferred qualification.
