Job Description Job Description Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Teacher in Special Education. This full-time position involves working with students who have diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities, to help them achieve their academic and personal goals. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of special education practices, be skilled in creating individualized education plans (IEPs), and demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of each student. Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies as needed. Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and social interaction. Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Assess and evaluate student performance through formal and informal assessments, providing feedback to students and parents. Provide support and guidance to students in developing social skills and coping strategies. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral incidents. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education. Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities within the school community. Collaborate with support staff, including paraprofessionals and therapists, to deliver effective instruction and support services. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field Valid teaching certification in Special Education or willing to obtain. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to create a structured and supportive learning environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning. Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for supporting diverse learners.
