Shift Differentials Weekday Evening (1500-2259): $3.50 Weekday Night (2300-0730): $5.00 Weekend Day (0700-1459, Saturday and Sunday): $3.00 Weekend Evening (1500-2259, Saturday and Sunday): $5.00 Weekend Night (2300-0730, Friday and Saturday nights): $6.50 $4,000 sign‑on bonus offered. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams to aid radiologists and providers in diagnosis and/or treatment of patients. Assist providers in various ultrasound‑guided procedures and provide direct patient care, including administration of medications within scope of practice and state law. Maintain equipment, coordinate necessary maintenance, and manage patient logs and billing. Essential Functions Ensure the appropriate exam is performed based on physician's orders and patient history. Verify and enter/select patient demographics. Provide accurate and consistent patient education and explanation of exam. Perform ultrasound examinations, tailoring exams based upon findings and most likely diagnosis. Update patient logs and submit billing. Ensure operation of equipment and coordinate necessary maintenance. Assist with training of student sonographers, residents, and fellows. Assist physicians with invasive procedures. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Execute the essential functions as outlined above. Provide care to the population served. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of lifespan growth and development, and assess data regarding the patient's status and provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures. Demonstrate human relations and effective communication skills. Qualifications Licenses Required Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system, obtained within 30 days of hire. One of the following: Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an Abdomen specialty (RDMS-AB) through ARDMS. Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with an OB/GYN specialty (OB/GYN) through ARDMS. Current ARRT Registration for Sonography (S). Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department. Preferred Qualifications ARRT registration as a Radiologic Technologist (R.T.). Working Conditions and Physical Demands Employee must be able to meet the following requirements with or without an accommodation. This position involves intensive work that may exert up to 100 pounds and may consistently require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects, such as medical equipment, or patients while providing medical care.
