Associate Attorney

Blitch Westley Barrette, S.C. is expanding its Transportation & Logistics Practice and seeks a full-time Associate Attorney to support its complex business litigation and trucking defense practice. The Firm represents a broad range of clients in the transportation space—including motor carriers, brokers, shippers, warehouses, and logistics companies—across a wide spectrum of legal issues. Our work spans accident defense, regulatory compliance, insurance coverage disputes, employment matters, contract drafting, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions, so no two matters look alike. Position Blitch Westley Barrette, S.C. seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join our expanding Transportation & Logistics Practice in central Florida. This position is remote with in-office collaboration as needed. You will get meaningful courtroom responsibility early and work directly with clients across the transportation industry. The ideal candidate will handle transportation litigation from inception through trial, conduct in-depth legal research, and draft high-level legal memoranda within a collaborative, high-performing team. What We Offer: Competitive salary commensurate with experience Covered Florida Bar dues and CLE, plus a professional development budget A defined path to partnership with structured mentorship and regular feedback Membership to the Transportation Lawyers Association Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in complex transportation and logistics litigation Handle all aspects of case management, from inception through trial or resolution Provide strategic legal counsel and collaborate with clients in the transportation industry Qualifications: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing (recent and pending admittees welcome) 2–6 years of litigation experience, including trial preparation and courtroom work Experience in federal court is a plus Transportation, trucking, or insurance-defense experience is a plus—we will train the right litigator Ability to work independently and remotely, and take ownership of their case Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple cases with efficiency and attention to detail Skilled in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution Excellent oral advocacy and courtroom presence Client-focused approach with a high standard of professionalism and integrity Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Proficient in legal technology and case management systems #J-18808-Ljbffr
