Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests:If candidate worked at a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that perm facility.At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.No previous employment allowed at this facility.If traveler has preferences, the manager is open to working with block scheduling.

Unit Details:Cares for a broad Med/Surg population including CP, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, orthopedics, detox, post-op surgical, and pediatric patients.Unit may take any Med/Surg patients except laboring mothers and patients on titrating cardiac drips or insulin drips.Uses ICU monitors; monitor readings are faxed to Med/Surg for nurse documentation.House supervisor makes assignments for nurses and aides; there is no charge nurse.RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow; RT assists with management.

Shift & Scheduling:Every other weekend required; night shift weekend schedule is Friday-Saturday-Sunday.Holidays rotate with regular staff.Extra shifts may be available.No call.

Floating Requirements:Med/Surg frequently floats to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver's license required for submission
