Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite | Full-Time | Weekend availability required (typically 2 weekends per month, Saturday and Sunday) | 1 major and 1 minor holiday required | May require up to 2 additional shifts per 6-week period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 10-bed ICU setting with a patient population that includes open heart, CHF, COPD, sepsis, CVA with TPA, DKA, overdose, and select neurological cases
• Manage critically ill adult and pediatric patients (children under age 8 may be admitted to the ICU) at nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic support devices including IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including Day 2 and Day 3 post-op CABG
• Participate in the TeleStroke program and provide care for CVA patients receiving TPA
• Float to PCU and Med Surg units as needed based on census; travelers are first to float

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, including cardiac experience
• Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
• Experience caring for Day 2 and Day 3 post-op CABG patients
• Active Nebraska RN license or valid compact state license in good standing
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with neurological patient populations
• Flexibility with scheduling, including weekends and additional shifts as needed
