Preferred Qualifications • Experience with NX CAD and CAM or similar advanced systems. • SolidWorks experience for fixture and mechanical design. • Experience with multi axis machining including 4 axis, 5 axis, and mill turn systems. • Exposure to automation and robotics in manufacturing environments. • Experience working with or implementing AI tools in engineering or manufacturing workflows. • Experience in high mix, low volume or contract manufacturing environments. Performance Objectives / What you'll be doing: • Explore, evaluate, and apply AI tools and emerging technologies to improve engineering productivity, knowledge capture, training, and manufacturing processes. • Lead the introduction of new manufacturing technologies into the shop, including new machine tools, controls, automation, robotics, advanced turning, and multi axis systems. • Collaborate with engineering, software, and shop teams to develop and test real world applications for machines and emerging manufacturing technologies. • Work with engineering teams to identify and resolve product issues during machine and feature development. • Implement and validate new machine capabilities such as broaching, hobbing, advanced machining features, and other process improvements that expand shop capability. • Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using CAM software and G code. • Develop new shop methodologies for fixtures, workholding approaches that support production, new product development, and faster adoption of new technologies. • Collaborate with software and engineering teams to improve internal tools, including defining enhancements to shop management systems such as the Dashboard and Digital Job Folders. • Support the integration of automation, robotics, and other advanced technologies into day to day shop operations. • Capture expert shop knowledge and translate it into standardized processes, documentation, and digital systems to reduce setup complexity and training time. • Work closely with machinists and engineers to troubleshoot issues and implement practical, shop floor ready solutions.
