Shape business development strategy for an expanding State Government Relations platform.

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck LLP, a leading national law and lobbying firm, is seeking a Business Development Manager to support their growing State Government Relations practice.

Reporting to the Director of Business Development for Government Relations, the Manager will partner closely with policy professionals, attorneys, and the broader marketing and business development team to drive strategic growth initiatives. This role will be instrumental in helping strengthen client relationships, support new business opportunities, and enhance the practice's market presence as the state government relations platform continues to expand.

The role in action:

• Develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives for the State Government Relations practice.
• Lead the creation of client-facing proposals, presentations, thought leadership, and other marketing materials that enhance market visibility and support growth opportunities.
• Partner with practice leaders to implement individualized business development plans focused on client expansion, relationship building, and revenue growth.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, political, and industry developments, leveraging competitive intelligence and market insights to identify emerging opportunities and trends.
• Collaborate across offices and practice groups to strengthen cross-selling efforts, connect practitioners to opportunities, and enhance client service delivery.
• Manage events, sponsorships, conferences, and other business development programs while tracking activity, outcomes, and key relationship data to measure success and inform future strategy.

We are seeking candidates who:

• Bring 6+ years of experience in business development, marketing, or other professional services settings.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Demonstrate strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, influence stakeholders, and execute strategic initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
