Senior Data Analyst

Role Description

You will own data modeling and analysis with a team focused on immediate productivity. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing data structures, taxonomies, and standards to ensure reliable pipelines and usable data products.
• Ensuring data accuracy before it moves downstream.

Qualifications

• Ability to build data models from scratch: conceptual, logical, physical, star schemas, flat schemas, transactional models.
• Experience with extracting and standardizing data from various formats: PDF, HTML, XBRL, iXBRL, APIs, flat files.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark for data manipulation, analysis, and automation.
• Strong communication skills to present data findings clearly and directly.
• Ability to operate autonomously without unnecessary meetings or presentations.

Requirements

• Embrace agentic development and delegate work to AI agents while critically reviewing their output.
• Define and enforce data modeling standards and conduct analysis to validate compliance.
• Experience in modeling data for a swarm shipping in 5-day pulse cycles.
• Demonstrated ability to build data models that hold up in production.

Nice to have

• Deep experience with data modeling tools like Erwin, PowerDesigner, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL skills across relational and cloud databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud data services: Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL.
• Experience with graph databases (Neo4j) or multiple storage formats (Parquet, AVRO, Delta).
• Hands-on experience with Databricks for data modeling, analysis, and exploration.
• Experience using Databricks AI capabilities for accelerating data profiling, anomaly detection, or model validation workflows.
• Comfort with spec-driven development and writing data specs for engineers.
• Data visualization experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
• Background in consulting or client-facing delivery.
