Our client in the Portland area is looking for an experienced Payroll Consultant for a long-term engagement. You will step into an established payroll environment, uncover opportunities for improvement, and help build a more standardized, automated, and scalable way forward. As the Payroll Consultant, you will be responsible for: Assessing current p ayroll processes, workflows, systems, and controls Identifying inefficiencies, inconsistencies, and manual processes Developing a standardized and scalable payroll operating model Recommending opportunities for automation and system improvements Designing stronger workflows, approvals, controls, and audit trails Creating clear process documentation and standard operating procedures Partnering with payroll, HR, finance, operations, and technology stakeholders Helping move recommendations from concept through implementation This is not a routine payroll-processing position . It is an opportunity to take ownership of a meaningful project, ask the right questions, and influence how payroll operates moving forward. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, energized by process improvement, and willing to challenge “ we’ve always done it this way .” This is a hybrid position in the Portland area . To be considered, you should have: 5+ years of progressive payroll experience preferred Experience supporting complex, multi-entity or multi-location payroll operations Experience assessing payroll processes and designing a standardized, scalable future state Experience improving workflows, controls, documentation, automation, and payroll systems Intermediate to advanced Excel skills The ability to work independently, think strategically, dig into the details, and challenge outdated processes #J-18808-Ljbffr
