Schedule:

36-bed Medical/Surgical unit, patient ratios 1:4 or 1:5, 4 weekend shifts required per 4-week block. Float over core staff as needed.

Highlights:

- Medical/Surgical unit specializing in post-operative care including amputations, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, oral surgeries, and wound vacs- Patient care includes wounds, tracheostomy, ostomy, drains, chest tubes, stroke and seizure patients, dialysis, and PCA pumps- Equipment includes PD Cyclers, Welch Allyn VS Carts, Hoyer Lifts, Broda Chairs, and Alaris IV Pumps; Heparin drip management- Documentation system: Meditech EMR- Unit staffing includes dedicated secretary daily and PRN techs for support- Strong focus on patient experience with bedside shift reporting and frequent safety checks

Requirements:

- Active and unencumbered RN license- BLS certification required- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required- Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments and manage complex post-operative cases- Experience with HAI prevention protocols, CVC and Foley monitoring, fall prevention, and 100% medication scanning- Professional appearance in navy, blue, white, black, gray, or ceil blue scrubs
