Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor-Clinical Neurophysiology

Position Overview The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Los Angeles is recruiting for a new faculty position to expand our clinical and research programs. The primary work site is Olive View Medical Center (LA County Facility), approximately 25 miles from UCLA main campus. The position requires an average of 40 hours per week at this site, with on‑call duties covering the ER and inpatient service, averaging up to 12 weeks per year. Responsibilities Outpatient clinics in general neurology, inpatient attending for the Neurology consult service, reviewing eConsults for appropriateness for clinic visits and providing advice for treatment/workup, performing and interpreting EMG/NCV, assisting with EEG reading, and standby EEG call at Olive View. The provider will also serve on the UCLA Neurology education committee as a representative of OVMC. Additional opportunities at UCLA main campus include outpatient clinic, inpatient neurology service, and committee work, but are not required. Qualifications Basic qualifications (required at time of application) MD, DO, MD/PhD or equivalent with neurology residency completion Strong teaching abilities Excellent communication skills to collaborate with other disciplines and specialties Experience and competence in interpreting EEG Experience and competence in performing and interpreting EMG/NCV Experience working with underserved populations Scholarly track record with clinical research experience and publications Ability to speak and understand Spanish Demonstrated leadership experience Additional qualifications (required at time of start) California medical license or licensure eligibility Board certified or eligible in Neurology by the ABPN Board certified or eligible in Clinical Neurophysiology Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $140,600 to $250,000, with the potential for higher earnings through performance‑based incentives. Membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan may provide additional compensation. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment.
