ResponsibilitiesHazTek is seeking an experienced Project Accounting and Audit Specialist to provide financial oversight and audit support for a large-scale construction project. This is a long-term opportunity expected to continue through 2029.ResponsibilitiesMonitor project budgets, commitments, forecasts, purchase orders, invoices, and expendituresReview contractor invoices and pay applications for accuracy, contractual compliance, retainage, stored materials, and supporting documentationCoordinate with project and field personnel to validate billed work and reported progressAudit contracts, change orders, vendor commitments, invoices, and other project financial recordsPrepare cost reports, variance analyses, cash-flow forecasts, and financial summariesResearch billing discrepancies and support project reconciliation and financial closeoutMaintain accurate, organized, and auditable project documentationQualificationsExperience in construction project accounting, project controls, cost management, or contract auditingKnowledge of contractor pay applications, change orders, commitments, retainage, and project forecastingStrong analytical, reconciliation, organization, and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and project accounting or ERP systemsExperience supporting major construction, capital, EPC, or mission-critical projectsData center construction experience preferredOverviewHazTek Safety Management is a full-service, objective safety partner, founded in 1997.
