Orthopedic Medical Assistant

Overview Lubbock Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced and eager Medical Assistant to work alongside fellow Medical Assistants, Clinic Coordinators, Physician Assistants, and Doctors. Responsibilities Insurance authorizations (MRIs, injections, etc.) Staple & suture removal Answering and returning patient phone calls Rooming patients and obtaining history & vitals Scheduling appointments Being the liaison between patient and provider Education & Certification Allied Healthcare Professional preferred (Medical Assistant, Licensed V. Nurse, Athletic Trainer, etc.) High school or equivalent (Required) BLS Certification preferred Allied Healthcare Profession License or Certification required Experience Previous work experience in healthcare preferred Previous work experience in orthopedics preferred 1 year healthcare experience preferred 1 year orthopedic experience preferred Skills Experience with EHR (Electronic Health Records) preferred Bracing & casting preferred Drawing injections preferred Basic computer skills required Friendly and willing to learn Schedule & Hours Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Lunch 12:00-1:00) Friday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM Saturday Sports Injury 8:30 AM-11:00 AM Job Type & Compensation Full-time Hourly rate: $15.00+ based on experience and education Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Other Requirements Must be located in Lubbock, TX 79410 and must relocate before starting work #J-18808-Ljbffr Lubbocksportsmed
