The Role:

The Project Engineer will support and assist in overseeing commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Success in this role means helping deliver projects on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, while fostering strong relationships with clients, trade partners, and internal teams.

The Project Engineer will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the Arizona office and collaborate cross-functionally with Estimators, Project Managers, and Business Development teams.

Responsibilities:

• Support the full lifecycle of commercial construction projects, from budgeting and design through permitting, construction, and closeout.

• Assist with managing project scopes, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations.

• Support project financials, including billing, cost controls, and change management processes.

• Serve as a point of contact for clients, owners, and on-site project representatives.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors throughout project delivery.

• Review and interpret project proposals, plans, and specifications to support resource allocation and execution.

• Help ensure compliance with project schedules, budget goals, and quality standards.

• Prepare and present project updates to leadership, clients, and key stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience supporting ground-up commercial or multifamily construction projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel; experience with Procore, Timberline, Sage, and On-Screen Takeoff is preferred.

• Strong understanding of Design/Build project delivery methods.

• Experience with wood frame construction and large-scale multifamily projects ($40M+) preferred.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Commercial estimating experience is a plus.

• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required.

Salary:

$70,000 - $100,000 per year, plus annual discretionary bonus (5–15% based on project and individual performance).

Location:

Based in Mesa/Phoenix, AZ. This is an in-office position with project site visits required
