Operations Instructor (Nuclear)

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Conducts training for licensed, non‑licensed operators and shift technical advisors in reactor operations covering replacement, requalification, upgrade, etc., consistent with NRC requirements. Develops and maintains operations training programs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Administers training programs to ensure availability of qualified and licensed personnel. Interfaces with line personnel to analyze performance needs and recommend appropriate training solutions. Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training materials and programs using a systematic approach to training. Administers and coordinates training programs for sites and corporate groups as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required for the position 5 years of nuclear plant experience (commercial or military) or a B.S. Degree in education, engineering, or related technical degree or equivalent. Minimum experience required for the position Ops Instructor, Non‑Licensed : At least 3 years of front‑line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction. Ops Instructor, Sr : At least 3 years of front‑line experience (commercial or military) and technical proficiency in the area of instruction – AND current or previously SRO licensed or certified. Ops Instructor, Sr Staff : At least five years of experience in the associated line organization. Desired : 3 years previously licensed as PWR SRO. Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position Ops Instructor, Non‑Licensed : Desired: SRO license or certification on BWR, PWR or both. Ops Instructor, Sr & Sr Staff : Required: SRO license or certification on BWR/PWR OR 3 years fully qualified non‑licensed.
