Director of Finance

An independent school is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee its daily financial operations and support sound financial planning. Reporting to the CFO/COO, this role manages tuition accounting, cash operations, financial reporting, payroll review, and the annual audit while supervising the Staff Accountant and Accounts Payable Manager.Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee tuition billing, collections, and reconciliation of tuition revenue and receivables.Manage cash receipts, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly financial analysis.Reconcile donation, endowment, restricted fund, and other accounts.Assist with the annual operating budget and enrollment-related financial processes.Review payroll and prepare monthly payroll reconciliations.Coordinate audit schedules and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.Prepare financial analyses and materials for leadership and board committees.QualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting and 5–7 years of relevant financial management experience.Knowledge of accounting principles, including nonprofit and fund accounting.Strong analytical, communication, and people management skills.Proficiency in Excel; experience with Blackbaud is a plus.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and committed to supporting the mission of an independent school. xhyhwjd Please send resume outlining your related experience.
