About this role The Master Controls Engineer will lead the design and/or programming effort in complex building automation systems. Design will be done using Microsoft Visio/Automated Logic's Engineering Design Suite. Programming will be done using Automated Logic's WebCTRL suite. Key Responsibilities Design, documentation, and/or programming of building automation systems (BASs) in compliance with project plans and specifications. Proactive communication with project stakeholders including requests for information and technical risks and opportunities. Mentorship of less experienced Application Engineers in all areas of their development. Design of complete building automation systems including the specification and sizing of controllers, electromechanical devices, sensors, networks, and computer hardware. Creation, where necessary, of sequences of operation for the control of all building systems. Documentation of the BAS design (submittals) and revision control of the resultant documents. Site‑specific configuration of the WebCTRL system (using SiteBuilder). Programming of control algorithms including those that include third‑party integration (using Eikon). Development of graphical and text‑based interfaces for building automation systems (using Eikon and ViewBuilder). Testing of programming and interfaces prior to deployment. Functional testing (commissioning) of complex building systems such as chiller plants and large integrations. Setup and execution of factory witness tests for projects which require them. Final documentation of the building automation system that incorporates all changes made since issuance of the submittal. Adherence to project requirements and company and customer standards in all aspects of design, programming, and implementation. Technical support during the selling process to ensure that sales representatives accurately address customer requirements and propose the best possible solutions. Identification and communication of project opportunities and risks related to cost, time, and technical considerations. Timely creation of requests for information which are clear, concise, and well written. Clear communication and proactive expectation setting with manager and project stakeholders. Maintenance and advisement of customer and company design and programming standards including parts and practices. Adherence to safety standards. High degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Adherence to ethics standards. Exemplifies the Carrier code of ethics. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction discipline 10+ years' experience designing or programming with Automated Logic products. Preferred Qualifications Possess and maintain valid and current form of government issued identification. Possess and maintain the ability to report to assigned work location reliably. Willingness and ability to travel 20% of average workweek, including air travel, overnight hotel stays, and unexpected travel when required. Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to HVAC/Controls. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
