Locum - Physician - Hospitalist - OB Toledo, OH

Overview Bon Secours – Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio is seeking a locum OB/GYN to provide labor and delivery (LampD) coverage. The role will support the hospital’s maternity unit during a maternity leave that created a 2‑FTE gap. The position is located at 2213 Cherry St, Toledo, OH. Responsibilities Provide 24‑hour LampD coverage, including routine vaginal deliveries, forceps or vacuum deliveries, and low‑risk pregnancies. Assist with and perform high‑risk obstetric procedures such as C‑sections, breech deliveries, management of multiple births, abruptions, and VBAC repairs. Conduct fetal heart rate interpretation (NST/CST/FSE) and perform obstetric ultrasounds (screening, targeted, and viability). Manage operative and diagnostic gynecologic procedures including ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cystectomy, tubal ligation, and minor laparoscopic surgeries. Collaborate with OB residents and midwives, providing first‑assist and mentorship on the LampD team. Oversee patient documentation using the EPICTrauma EMR system and maintain compliance with hospital protocols. Qualifications Board‑certified OB/GYN with experience in labor and delivery. Proficiency in low‑risk pregnancy management and high‑risk obstetric interventions. Strong ultrasound skills and familiarity with fetal monitoring. Ability to perform routine and major gynecologic surgeries. Experience working in an academic teaching hospital with residents. Valid medical license in Ohio and a clear background check. Schedule & Dates Needed Varied shifts, typically 8:00 am to 8:00 am (24‑hour coverage). Coverage dates: August 7 (8 am‑5 pm) and August 9 (8 am‑10 am). Additional dates may be required to fill the maternity leave.
