Job Summary: The Construction Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for maintaining the construction safety program for a large global pharmaceutical manufacturing company. This person will ensure that safety policies and procedures are being followed during facility construction and renovation projects. Job Duties: Ensure that facility construction projects are compliant with all required safety policies. Manage the company’s contractor safety program. Responsible for safety training. Conduct periodic walk-downs of construction sites and document any non-conformances or discrepancies. Will work on both high-risk (i.e., building demolition) and low-risk (i.e., renovation) projects. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is highly preferred. Must come from the construction (or similar) industry, working as a safety professional. Strong understanding of construction safety regulations, safety procedures, and construction terminology. Ability to effectively communicate information to construction workers and project stakeholders. Ability to work onsite daily in North Chicago, IL.
