Project Manager

Location: Grand Rapids, MI Shift: 1st shift Pay: $100,000–$130,000/Year

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in manufacturing, tooling, or automation? We're seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Grand Rapids, MI. This position is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and communicating with internal teams and customer representatives throughout the entire life of a project.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Project Manager, your core responsibilities will include:

• Project coordination: Coordinate projects from initial planning through completion while keeping internal teams and customers informed.
• Tooling: Process tooling and tooling changes while coordinating tool processes, design, and quality.
• Quoting: Review and process new and job-related quotes, including engineering changes.
• Production scheduling: Work with production, quality control, shipping, and department leaders to maintain schedules and ensure on-time delivery.
• Customer relations: Serve as a key point of contact between customers and the company while communicating customer requirements and expectations.
• Production priorities: Review shop production priorities with the superintendent and communicate changes as needed.
• Documentation: Create and revise routers, work instructions, timelines, and other customer- and company-required documentation.
• Quality systems: Continually review quality systems and documentation and coordinate internal and external audits and review meetings.
• CAD coordination: Coordinate CAD work schedules to help ensure timely project delivery.
• Project budgets: Maintain and administer job budgets and finances while monitoring their impact on project profitability.
• Financial reporting: Keep management informed of current job financial status, invoicing status, and potential financial concerns.
• Business development: Keep management and sales informed of future or potential work identified through project management and customer relationships.
• Design approval: Participate in concept, 50%, and 100% design approvals for dies and fixtures when projects are awarded.
• Engineering & manufacturing: Serve as a liaison between customers, engineering, and manufacturing as required.
• Project timelines: Create and maintain project timelines based on customer and company requirements.
• Problem solving: Identify timing, quality, and delivery issues and provide input on potential solutions.
• Project information: Proactively obtain the information needed to keep projects and activities moving forward.
• Department coordination: Work with department heads to coordinate design and construction and schedule internal meetings as needed.
• Kickoff meetings: Organize and lead internal kickoff meetings for new projects.
• Customer buyoffs: Attend homeline buyoffs at customer facilities as required.
• Purchase orders: Receive and track purchase orders for work to be performed, in process, or completed.
• Invoicing: Advise accounting of invoicing status and follow invoices through the appropriate channels to obtain required engineering and plant approvals.

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the specific industry.
• Experience and knowledge within the applicable manufacturing/industrial industry.
• Experience or knowledge in sales, quality systems, and suppliers.
• Expertise with internal and external customer-specific documentation.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
• Strong management, organizational, and people skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor suitable for working with customers and business partners.
