Radiologic Technologist I, II, III Full‑time, Permanent Civil Service. Job Code and Title: 2471 – Radiologic Technologist I, II, III. Certification Rule: Rule of the List. Compensation: USD 123,136 – USD 181,948 yearly. NOTE: Work hours may include days, evenings, and alternating weekends. Role Overview Radiologic Technologists provide diagnostic imaging services, ensure radiation safety, and support clinical workflow across San Francisco General Hospital and other sites. Essential Functions Level I Perform general diagnostic procedures using fixed or portable equipment; assist in patient positioning; select technical factors. Apply radiation safety principles and use appropriate equipment to keep exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable. Assess patient condition and take necessary actions per standards. Document procedures in patient records and logs; label images correctly. Transport patients and manage patient flow. Schedule procedures, enter orders, process and collate images and paperwork, and provide customer service. Perform venipuncture and CPR; assist with contrast media and sterile prep. Train student technologists and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Maintain equipment and report failures; keep medical records and IT systems accurate. Assist physicians with imaging questions or issues. Level II Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in an advanced modality. Level III Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in at least two advanced modalities. Other related duties may be assigned or required. Minimum Qualifications Level I Current license as Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) issued by California, with valid registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Valid permit to use fluoroscopy equipment from the California Department of Health Services, Radiologic Health Branch, within six months of appointment. Valid CPR certificate from the American Heart Association. Level II One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Current CRT license and ARRT registration (as above). ARRT certification in at least one advanced modality (e.g., Mammography, CT, MRI, Quality Management, Bone Densitometry, Cardiac-Interventional, Vascular-Interventional). Valid CPR certificate. Valid fluoroscopy permit. Level III Three years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Current CRT license and ARRT registration (as above). ARRT certification in at least two advanced modalities. Valid CPR certificate. Valid fluoroscopy permit. Evaluation All applicants will be evaluated against a supplemental questionnaire assessing knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the responsibilities listed above.
