Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Pastry Cook lll.

Responsibilities

The Pastry Cook III prepares all pastry items.

• This person maintains a high degree of cleanliness throughout the cooking area.
• Must be able to read and follow menus and recipes and compute basic mathematical calculations.
• This person must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Complete understanding of allocated stations to work efficiently
• Banquet and restaurant plated desserts
• General bakery production – understanding of 2 stations

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Culinary school preferred.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Must be able to communicate and understand basic English.
• Some heavy lifting required.

Physical Requirements

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs
• Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Performing repetitive hand and wrist movements for chopping, slicing, and stirring.

Wage Information

The hourly rate for this position is $24.08.
