As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Access Audit in Houston, TX , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors at a government facility by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, maintain visitor logs, and direct individuals according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help identify access-related concerns and report unusual activity.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports and maintain required documentation related to access control activities, incidents, and daily operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
• Possess a college degree.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
