About the Role and Responsibilities:

McCourt Partners is seeking an analytically rigorous, detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a lean, entrepreneurial environment. The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting leadership with financial analysis and decision-making. This role oversees key accounting processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, compliance, and audit support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger activity, treasury, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity.
• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure financial results are completed accurately and on schedule.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and variance analyses.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to support accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
• Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members, including assigning work, reviewing output, and supporting professional growth.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax personnel, and internal stakeholders to support audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
• Partner with development, asset management, and investment teams to provide financial insights, resolve accounting issues, and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve reporting quality, and leverage accounting systems more effectively.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and other ad hoc financial projects as needed.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, technically strong accounting professional who combines a high degree of accuracy with sound financial judgment. This person should be comfortable leading and developing a team, maintaining disciplined financial reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls. They should have the analytical skills to interpret financial information, the collaborative mindset to partner effectively with development and business stakeholders, and the integrity and discretion to handle confidential matters with sound professional judgment.

Ideal candidates will have strong accounting expertise, excellent financial analysis and reporting skills, and demonstrated experience developing high-performing teams. Candidates who are thorough, process-oriented, collaborative, and committed to accuracy and continuous improvement will thrive in this role.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or developing others through people management, team leadership, or project leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of multi-entity, intercompany, and consolidated accounting environments.

Preferred Qualification:

• CPA or other relevant professional certification.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems such as Yardi, NetSuite, Ramp, or similar platforms.
• Experience improving close timelines, automating reconciliations, or implementing other accounting process improvements.
• Public accounting or audit experience.
• Prior experience in the real estate industry.

The expected salary range for this position is $140,000 -$150,000 annually. Total compensation for this role also includes a bonus incentive in addition to the base salary.
