We are partnering with a well-established real estate investment, development, and management firm seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its New York office.

Reporting directly to the Controller , the Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, month-end close, internal controls, and the continued development of the accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes , ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and cash management
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses
• Oversee accounting for multiple entities , including intercompany transactions and consolidated reporting
• Maintain strong accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve or automate accounting processes
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while promoting accuracy, accountability, and professional growth
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and other third-party service providers
• Partner cross-functionally with development, asset management, investment, and operations teams
• Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow analysis, and other financial planning initiatives
• Support special projects and provide accounting and financial analysis to senior management as needed
• Help enhance accounting systems, reporting capabilities, and processes as the organization continues to grow

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong xhyhwjd knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Experience with multi-entity, intercompany, and consolidated accounting
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or developing accounting professionals
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with both accounting and non-accounting professionals

Highly Preferred

• CPA or CPA candidate
• Previous real estate accounting experience
• Background in public accounting or audit
• Experience with Yardi, NetSuite, Ramp, or similar accounting and financial systems
• Experience improving month-end close procedures, implementing new processes, or automating reconciliations and reporting
