Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and provide population-appropriate education using relevant patient education materials.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care or high-risk discharge planning situations.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC.
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a cardiothoracic or cardiovascular intensive care setting.
