Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn, developmental level, and factors affecting ability to learn; utilize appropriate patient education materials.
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families; consult appropriate resources for patients with complex care or high-risk discharge planning needs.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices while promoting a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC).
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience caring for patients in an intensive care or critical care setting.
