Radiology Technologist Dosimetrist

Join our team as a specialized Radiology Technologist Dosimetrist, where you will calculate and design radiation treatment plans for patients with cancer and other serious diseases, collaborating closely with radiation oncologists and medical physicists.

Key responsibilities include:

• Calculate doses of radiation and design treatment plans that maximize tumor targeting while minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.
• Use advanced treatment planning software to contour tumors and adjacent organs based on CT and other diagnostic scans.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and therapists to ensure safe and accurate treatment delivery.
• Assist with quality assurance testing of treatment plans and equipment prior to patient treatment.
• Document and archive patient files, treatment plans, and assist with chart checks throughout the treatment process.
• Educate patients and families on the treatment process and provide support as needed.

Work environment includes:

• The role is based in hospitals, cancer centers, or physicians' offices, often working at a computer as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, as well as knowledge of anatomy, physics, and mathematics.
