Surgical Technologist

Find your calling at Mercy! Performs the primary function of a Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Position Details Title: Surgical Technologist - II (CST/ST) Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO Department: Operating Room Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/week Shift: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri) + Additional Call Hours Qualifications Experience: Surgical technologist/scrub experience preferred; required for Level II/III. Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Postsecondary certificate or associate's degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited program preferred. Certification/Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire. Surgical Technology Certification preferred. Non-licensed/certified candidates may be considered with applicable experience. Other: Must understand English both written and spoken and be able to perform job-related functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Physical requirements: Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Prolonged standing and walking each shift. Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
